Revel Books exists for one reason:
To publish crime fiction that tells the truth—whether it’s comfortable or not.
Not the polite version.
Not the market-tested version.
The version that reveals how crime actually happens, why people justify it, and what it costs when the line is crossed.
What We Are Here to Do
Our mission is to produce crime fiction that:
- Examines pressure before the crime, not just the crime itself
- Treats human behavior as the real weapon
- Refuses to simplify morality for the sake of a tidy ending
- Respects the intelligence of the reader
We are not here to reassure you that everything works out.
We are here to show what happens when it doesn’t.
What We Refuse to Do
Revel Books does not exist to:
- Chase trends
- Soften consequences
- Create villains that feel safe
- Or pretend justice is always fair, fast, or final
If a story relies on coincidence, clichés, or convenient redemption, it misses the point.
Crime fiction should reveal reality—not escape from it.
The Line We Draw
Every book we publish must answer one question clearly:
Does this story expose something true about people under pressure?
If the answer is yes, we move forward.
If not, we walk away—regardless of how popular it might be.
That standard is non-negotiable.
